Swedish Massage (Chair or Table)
Widely practiced the world over toward reducing pain and improving overall health, this technique incorporates five styles of hand movement that include; Effleurage, these are the sliding or gliding Swedish massage techniques that cover different areas of the body. Petrissage, this is the technique of kneading the muscles of the body to attain deeper massage penetration. Tapotement, this technique of Swedish massage, as the name suggests consists of rhythmic tapping that uses the fists of the cupped hands. Friction, this move seeks to create heat to bring about relaxation of the muscles. Vibration, this is the one among Swedish massage techniques that helps to loosen up the muscles by using a back and forth action of the fingertips or the heel of the hand over the skin. Prenatal massage is also available.
Shiatsu Massage (Floor Mat Only)
This form of Japanese massage relies primarily on thumb pressure to stretch tight muscles. Tracing the body's meridians, Shiatsu also incorporates the use of acupressure.
Deep Tissue Massage (Table or Floor Mat)
The most physically intense of all modalities, this process reaches deep into the muscle fascia and triggers pressure points throughout the body. (Prior massage experience recommended.)
Hot Stone Therapy (Table Only)
There is nothing like the comfort of warm stones against your skin to draw away all that tension. The smooth basalt is positioned over key body points to maximize muscle relaxation.
Reiki Massage (Chair or Table)
An ancient form of energy massage, Reiki is now being practiced in hospitals throughout New England. This most gentle form of massage proves highly beneficial for pain.
Reflexology (Chair or Table)
This centuries old practice focuses primarily on the feet, yet can also include the hands. In addition to providing relief to the site, the process also resonates throughout the body.
Music and Aromatherapy (Office Only)
Soothing sound can be coupled with Essential Oils and fragrances to further enhance the overall experience.
